This event aims at being a vehicle for the diffusion of academics’ concepts and creations proposed by writers and scholars from around the world. This event is a part of Bali Padma Bhuwana International Festival which establishes fora where new, creative, and challenging ideas in the various fields of art, design, and culture are elaborated and debated—in cross-cultural and interdisciplinary approaches. We invite global scholars, artists, writers, researchers, and personalities to expose their ideas and works.

Theme: Argha-Tirtha-Sidhi, (Energy of Water and Related Creative Prospects)

All the issues pertaining to the availability and quality of sea and land water are expected to be the basis on which the seminar participants create physical artworks or bring forward ideas to be implemented. It is well-known that artists and creative intellectuals are worried by the condition of rivers, lakes, and above all, the sea water is a basic issue for the future of humanity. We believe that scientists, artists, and creative intellectuals can come forward with original ideas and creations, and, who knows? generate the dynamics that may contribute to the solving of the issue. In Balinese tradition, ancestors are said to become “water” (toya); when they reincarnate, they become “water drops” (titisan/warih) or “dew” (damuh). This shows that the symbolic system of the island is closely related to the ecology of Bali, the prosperity of which rest on mountain lakes and a sophisticated irrigation system.
